Positive Nihilism

There’s neon weirdo’s, in the neon lights
And neon angels on cool black nights,
That cast no shadows, though the sun burns bright
And staves off dark until tonight,
Through unlit tunnels, we traverse the skies
And refuse to acknowledge, in front of our eyes,
In the glowing ashes, from dead sunbeams
We revert to one, though much as it seems,
We know not where the winds still speak
Nor how best to converse should we ever meet,
Through anything more than mere happenstance
We comprehend nothing; just fill in the blanks,
And give up to dogma, our logic and thinking
Our reason, our glory, our love and our inkling,
That how best to live is through passive resistance;
To disbelieve it all and to smile from a distance.
