Chicken Farm(Ville)

Every day between 10 and 20 million people around the world log into Facebook to check in on their virtual crops and livestock on their FarmVille farm.  A fraction of those 20 million people will spend real money on FarmVille Cash but it adds up fast with Zynga raking in about half of their estimated $500 million dollars from FarmVille alone last year.

The idealist in me rails against microtransactions that seem inexpensive but add up over time, spreading products like a virus through social networks, and gameplay that demands your time but not necessarily your attention.   The programmer and hobbyist game developer in me wants a piece of that market.

So, with that in mind, I sat down at my laptop and started developing the next FarmVille killer.  Well, not really, but I came up with a cute game where you are a chicken farmer and collect eggs.

Chicken Farmer (a work in progress) is already loading below (if not, you need to get Java).  There is sound so I suggest you put on a pair of headphones if you don’t want to disturb your coworkers.  Enjoy, and leave your comments below:
